I was never fortunate enough to meet Rex but we've been fans ever since we first saw "The Secret Life of the Fax Machine" and all the other TV programmes he played a part in. My wife, Tracey met him once when he came to her rescue. She’d got her car stuck in the mud while taking our kids to a toddler group. Rex came along with a machine and towed her out. I like think it was some kind of autonomous giant robot with glowing red eyes that he’d just cobbled together that morning but Tracey thinks it might have been a Landrover... She's never been very good at identifying cars though, so I think my version is more likely... An amazing guy. Our condolencies to his family and friends.
